Following your initial phone/online appointment you can negotiate on-campus appointments with the counsellor where required. Counselling is available to assist you with any issue that affects your studies. The Counsellors will listen to your concerns and assist in exploring options and solutions that suit your needs.
The Counsellors are a team of highly skilled and caring professionals, who can assist you to reach your goals. They can support you to build the confidence and resilience needed on this journey. Student Services provides a safe, private and confidential space for students to access assistance.
TAFE SA Counsellors will listen to you and treat you with respect. We will work with you to help resolve any issues that are impacting on you being successful with your studies. We will assist you in developing skills to help you with your study (study skills, time management, coping strategies). We will refer you to appropriate agencies when specialist or ongoing support is required.

In order to provide effective support, and to monitor the impact of the services provided, information may be recorded and stored by Student Services. Non-sensitive information may, on occasion, be disclosed to other relevant TAFE SA staff and funding bodies for the purpose of providing and monitoring educational support. Personal, sensitive information collected by Student Services staff within a student counselling context is recorded to enable effective monitoring and delivery of counselling support by the Student Services team. Counselling records will not be used for other purposes unless client consent has been provided, or where there is a legal requirement to do so.
The use and/or disclosure of personal information by Student Services is undertaken in accordance with the SA State Government Information Privacy Principles and TAFE SA’s Privacy Policy.
Nurse and Midwife Support for confidential advice and referral. Available to all nurses and midwives, nursing and midwifery students, employers and educators. This third party service can be accessed in addition to TAFE SA’s student support services and employment services.
