There are a variety of scholarships and grants available, however these cannot be relied upon to assist with costs at the time of your enrolment. To avoid delays to your enrolment or receipt of possible support, make sure you obtain all the necessary information to lodge your forms in good time.
Some grants and scholarships have fixed eligibility criteria, and fixed application closing dates and may take some time to process. You should check details on the organisation website.

The Australian Disability and Indigenous Peoples' Education Fund (ADIPEF) assists people with disabilities from both indigenous and non-indigenous backgrounds. Small quarterly grants of up to $2500 will be awarded to assist people with disabilities to continue their learning.
Australian Veterans' Children Assistance Trust scholarships are for the children or grandchildren of veterans, who need financial assistance to support their studies.
The aim of the Busy at Work program is to support Young Australians or ex ADF to gain critical employability skills, which are embedded in Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications, enabling them to enter and stay in the workforce.
The Scholarship aims to support young people aged 15-24 or recently exited ADF personnel (no age restriction) to study in a VET approved program with a Pt Pirie catchment area (including Kapunda, Nuriootpa, Maitland, Clare, Burra, Jamestown, Gladstone, Peterborough, Crystal Brook, Kadina, Balaklava, Ardrossan, Tanunda, Wallaroo and Barossa Valley).
Priority will be given to applicants in the following cohorts:
Applicants who are eligible can apply for the scholarship to undertake an approved course of study at Certificate III to Advanced Diploma levels. Courses can be undertaken part-time or full-time, and Young Australian Scholars will receive up to $5000 per year in study assistance.
Further, as part of the scholarship, students are required to undertake a paid internship or work placement for 20 business days. In this time, Scholars will receive $3000 for the paid internship work and host employers will receive $1500 per intern.
The Dame Roma Mitchell Grants provide financial assistance for young people up to 29 years old to contribute to the achievement of personal goals, health and wellbeing, and personal development.
Dawn Slade-Faull Awards are available for South Australian residents who have an intellectual, physical, sensory or psychiatric disability. The awards are to assist the personal or professional development of successful applicants as artists or craftspersons through advanced tuition, exhibition opportunities, special equipment, and product marketing or other means specific to the needs of individual award winners. Applications called for in September and close in December. Enquiries are welcome throughout the year.
The June Opie Fellowship is available to citizens and permanent residents of Australia, New Zealand and Canada who have a severe disability. Intended for those who plan to undertake postgraduate study with a view to entering the professions, particularly university teaching and research. One fellowship is granted annually for NZ$12 000. Applications close in October.
The Pinnacle Foundation provides multi-year educational scholarships and mentoring support to young adults (between the ages of 17 and 26) across Australia where their gender identity, sexual orientation or sexual characteristics have prevented or hindered the achievement of their career aspirations or personal development.
Redkite Education Grants are available to help students aged 15-24 who have experienced cancer reach their study and work goals. Siblings whose education is disrupted during the cancer journey may also be eligible to receive Redkite's education assistance. Redkite's education and career assistance is provided via financial grants.
The Robert Rose Foundation assists people with spinal cord injuries and their families who are in necessitous circumstances.
Grants go towards providing support to those with spinal cord injuries and their families. Funding support is used for Spinal Cord Injured (SCI) equipment, sporting equipment, home modifications and further education programs.
The Stand Like Stone Foundation scholarships help people who identify with the Limestone Coast to undertake educational studies at any level – primary, secondary or tertiary courses. There are several grants and scholarships available.
Applicants must be South Australian or Northern Territory residents, 20-30 years old and in need of financial assistance to help them undertake further studies or research. The scholarship is valued in excess of $25,000. See the Masonic Foundation website for details or call +61 8 8443 9909.
Financial assistance may be sought from this scheme by individuals in financial hardship, who have been resident in South Australia for five years or more, and who have an unexpected crisis that impacts on their ability to pay fees, materials or debts.
