Description

In this DVD we will walk you through various chemical labels to identify and understand the information contained by: introducing the user to the three parts of the label, explaining the legal status of product labels, ensuring awareness of the terms "registered uses" and "withholding period", enabling the user to interpret the "directions for use" on the label, familiarising the user with the "poisons schedules", introducing the user to "hazard symbols" and "safety directions" on labels and ensuring the user knows the sources of additional information.

Personal Safety and Protection (SafeTChem)

In this programme we aim to inform the viewer of the need to wear appropriate protective equipment and to wear it correctly by: explaining the different ways pesticides can enter the body, showing and explaining the different types of protective equipment, how it should be worn, cleaned and the correct storage procedure, showing the different types of respirator cartridges (how to identify the correct cartridge for a particular use and how to judge when a cartridge should be replaced) and expelling the common symptoms of poisoning and describing the action that should be taken in the event of poisoning.

Coxing for Novices

This programme is designed to assist novice coxswains learn some of the basic terms and skills used when coxing. It is a mixture of video DVD footage, graphics and modelling and can be viewed in its entirety or by individual sections. The sections are Introduction, Boat Types and Rowing Styles, Places in the Boat, Stroke Commands, Stopping the Boat, Getting the Boat into the Water, Steering the Boat using the Rudder, Steering the Boat using the Crew, Turning the Boat Novice Crew, Landing the Boat, Personal Safety, How to Handle Boat Wash, Capsize or Swamping.
