Employment Services - Boards and management (Cluster F)

This learner resource represents a cluster of two competencies: 'Work effectively with the board of an organisation' and 'Manage meetings'. By combining the two competencies we are better able to maintain a fluency and remove any overlap between the two competencies. Boards of management/management committees are a key feature of most community based organisations and of many other organisations. Any organisation wishing to become a legal identity under the Incorporation Act/Associations Act must have a Board of management/management committee. In most cases the board members are volunteers, giving of their time to support and promote an organisation. People volunteer for roles for many reasons, as do board members.
