Diploma of Interpreting
The International Students module is designed to: • make you aware that competent interpreting performance requires a detailed understanding of the Australian context within which interpreting occurs • develop your understanding, through practice in realistic settings, of the need to employ cross-cultural communication skills effectively during the communication process. The cassette referenced in this training resource is not available for purchase as the whole resource is currently being updated.
The Study Guide aims to make you aware that the effective transfer of messages and information involves planning, preparation, evaluation and both verbal and non-verbal communication skills. It also aims to develop your understanding of the ethical rules by which you will be working so that, at the end of the course, you will be clear about the rights, responsibilities and ethics of your role as an interpreter.
