Headlining Removal & Replacement

This DVD is a comprehensive study of the R&R procedures usually required when dealing with the three major forms of headlining found in motor vehicles. Although there are only two support bows found in a utility, it still provides all of the essentials found in a sedan type vehicle. One or two piece moulded head linings have become very popular in recent times. There are differences between the one and two piece procedures, but they are relatively minor. The possible exception is the manner in which the moulded lining is removed from the vehicle. It may be necessary to remove a screen. The 'glued foam and fabric' type of lining has existed, in concept form at least, for many years. It has usually been confined to 'budget' vehicles or commercial style vans etc. All three video demonstrations cover all of the essential considerations relevant to the type of headlining under consideration.

Oxyacetylene Welding - Braze Welding versus Brazing - the lap joint

This presentation is the DVD component of a self paced, competency based, learning package. Neither brazing nor so-called braze welding is a fusion process. They are more akin to the lead/tin soldering processes. Only the temperatures required are much higher. Accordingly the demonstration explains what the process is, how bonding occurs and the importance of cleaning when preparing the joint. The selection of rods, tips and flame settings for both braze welding and brazing are detailed. Temperature control is stressed as it is very important for a successful joint with either process. The demonstration concludes with a series of typical problems experienced by the learner.
