Description

That steel expands when heated and contracts when it cools is well known. What this presentation explains is that the contraction is rather more than the expansion. In other words, it shrinks. This is followed by a practical type of demonstration which features how this phenomenon can be used to advantage by a panel beater.

Making Templates - Temporary and Permanent

This DVD demonstrates the basic approach to the use of templates as used in the panel beating industry.  Because of this the basic materials used are usually oxywelding filler wire (until recently this was always on hand, now a stock of soft iron wire may be required in most establishments), 'standard' body steel, brown paper and various kinds of cardboard that may come to hand from packaging. These materials are variously used to produce temporary and permanent templates. These then serve one of two purposes. Either the checking of a profile or the marking out of an area and shape required for fabricating a panel section.
