This DVD demonstrates how to apply transverse friction techniques to superficial and deeper soft tissues of the body. It adds compression as another movement to expand on the 5 classical movements of Swedish Massage. The DVD also demonstrates active stretching techniques to enhance a client’s sensory perception of muscle elongation and focuses on the use of prone, supine and seated positions to stretch the soft tissue that crosses major joints. This DVD is one of three that supports the unit ‘Provide the massage treatment’ and should be used in conjunction with face to face instruction and corresponding print based resources.
