This learner guide has been updated to include links to The Early Years Learning Framework and is one of the units that provide information on planning meaningful programs for young children. ‘Program’ refers to all the different aspects of a children’s service that impact on children’s play, learning and development. The physical environment and the way it is organised impacts significantly on children’s learning. Similarly, the behaviour of early childhood caregivers and how they interact with the children, the extent to which the children are offered opportunities that respond to their individual interests and the way children are grouped also influence their learning.
