Practise in the Domiciliary Health Care Environment (Advanced Diploma HLT07)

Nursing is a diverse profession and not all nursing occurs in hospitals. Nursing in the domiciliary care environment is not necessarily hospital work transferred to the home. Domiciliary care occurs in the context of the Australian health care system and this greatly influences the characteristics of domiciliary nursing as a discipline. Nursing services, in relation to the domiciliary health care environment, may include regular and ongoing care, or care on a one-off basis in the client’s home. Coordination of care with other home care providers may fall under the nursing jurisdiction or may be facilitated through allied health professionals using a case management system.

A Revision of Basic Arithmetic

The purpose of this package is to enable Enrolled Nurses, converting a Certificate IV or its equivalent to the Diploma of Nursing, or students just beginning the nursing program, to revise basic arithmetic skills to enable them to complete the nursing calculation component of the unit. You may have the required skills; to verify this, complete the short assessment at the beginning of this package. As you work through the assessment, you should be able to detect any areas of weakness and then focus on this particular component of the package.
