Oxyacetylene Welding - Introduction to Fusion Welding (Panel Beating)

This DVD presents the principles of gas fusion welding eg the weld line, tip clearance and forming of the molten pool or “puddle”. It demonstrates how to control the size of the “puddle" and how to move it with and without use of filler wire or rod. Concepts of fusion, down hand, forehand and penetration are explained.

Edge Relieving (Panel Beating)

This presentation is the DVD component of a self paced, competency based, learning package. A step by step explanation of the theory and practice of edge relieving in thin sheet mild steel.  Starting with an "oil-canning" piece of steel we are introduced to the concept of stretching the material in the appropriate places by hammering.  Flattening out by means of a flat faced wooden mallet is then followed by plenishing with a steel plenishing hammer.
