Receive and handle retail stock

Hairdressing salons and barber shops regularly order in and receive retail stock as a normal part of business operations. When the stock arrives, it needs to be received, inspected for damage, checked off against the invoice or order form, stored appropriately and then ultimately displayed for retail sale. A receiving bay is the initial resting place for incoming stock. It could be a store room at the back of the premises or a small space provided within the reception area.
