This learner guide provides the knowledge and skills needed to communicate and interact with families in appropriate, timely and rewarding ways. Whether beginning a career in caring for children or already working in a children’s service, this guide will assist in acquiring the knowledge and skills to establish positive relationships with the families of children enrolled in the service and to negotiate in relation to care practices to facilitate their transition into care.
