Competence is defined as the combination of skill, knowledge, attitudes, values and abilities that underpin effective performance in a profession. This competency requires the student to develop competence in the role of the circulating nurse. A student studying "Practise within the Perioperative Nursing Environment on Clinical Placement" is required to keep a Clinical Placement Logbook. It is an official record of Orientation to the Clinical Placement venue and attendance.
